LittleJ sure liked putting on the sprinkles!

We always go out and cut our own tree and this year was no exception. Here we are hunting for the perfect tree.

Where, oh where, has our Christmas tree gone. Where, oh where can it be?

We ended up back at the barn without a tree (all the scotch pines were way too plump), but had some wonderful hot chocolate and popcorn. We left the tree farm empty handed and ended up getting one already cut at a nursery. It looks just as good and we still had a great time.

BigJ was a shepherd in the homeschool co-op Christmas program.

On Christmas morning we opened our gifts to each other.

We also had gifts to open at grandma and papa's house.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

LittleA and LittleE rolled out candy cane cookies yesterday, and we'll be making cut-out sugar cookies tomarrow. I'm hoping also to get some Snickerdoodles made. Happy Baking!
This is the oldest catholic church in Ohio, but unfortunately it will be closing next year. This was the choir's last concert in this beautiful sanctuary and according to Dr. Jacob's, the best acoustic building they have ever sung in, anywhere in the world. The choir sounded wonderful. This photo was taken from the back as the choir was gathering for their rehersal.
That's 3 down and 3 more to go;

It's nice to just sit and relax, and feel the warmth of the fire.
And make a few s'mores. Mmmm.

And oh, how quickly, the trees and yard went from this....
...to this. I love it when the grass is covered with leaves because one of our favorite fall activities happens to be raking the leaves. Yes, you heard that right. We love raking leaves!
If I had to bag them, I probably wouldn't love it so much. We simply rake them all to the back of our yard, and they naturally biodegrate all on their own throughout the winter and spring. As you can see, we have a system that gets them back there in no time.
LittleJ liked helping at times.
But mostly he liked to play in them. Well, who wouldn't.
Of course, you have to have cookie breaks along the way.
So what is all this work leading to?
....strategically placed right in front of the swing set....
....for the purpose of JUMPING!!!
Gotta love the leaf pile, don't 'ya? Thanks to LittleE, LittleA got a face full of leaves. Well, you know sisters....
....now it's time for some revenge by LittleA.
LittleJ loved sliding down the slide and landing in his pile at the end.
And BigJ had a good time too.
Want a free, fun family afternoon? Just rake up a pile of leaves and dive in!

And everyone's happy at the end of the day. Can't ask for much more than that. Happy fall!!
