Friday Night Ice Cream Break!!

On our way home from Cornerstone University, where LittleA will be attending in the fall, we stopped at our favorite ice cream parlour in Jackson, MI. I have been going here since childhood and now my own kids have enjoyed it many times as well. What makes it so great? The HUGE ice cream, of course. This is the junior banana split that Tim and I shared. Did you notice I said junior? It has only 3 scoops of ice cream plus generous toppings-- the regular has 6 scoops!

LittleA and LittleJ shared a junior turtle sundae-- whew!

And BigJ had a junior hot fudge old-fashioned sundae.Double YUM!
Eat light before you arrive. Or, like us, eat your dessert first and supper about 2 hours later!

A Few Glimpes From Easter

On the day before Easter we like to color our Easter eggs.
LittleJ had fun trying to draw on his before plopping them in the coloring. Some of the colors came out very bright and nice, while others (especially the pinks) didn't seem to work so well.
LittleA and LittleE still love to sit down and color eggs, too.
LittleJ dressed up for church on Easter Sunday.

After our "traditional" Easter lunch at our favorite chinese buffet, we headed to Mill Creek Metro Park. It has this restored mill which was closed, but we plan to return this summer for a tour inside. Here is the view from the back of the mill.

This was our view as we were approaching the mill.
We then took a short hike on the boardwalk trail down to the river bank.
Of course, I had everyone stop to take a picture.

Taking School Outside

One of the nice things about homeschooling is that you can school practically anywhere.
On Thursday, LittleE and BigJ took there work out to the trampoline. It worked great-- for a while.
Then... LittleJ wanted to join in "his own way".
